Eligibility
The 2023 Capricorn MTA WA Automotive Awards program is open to all members of the Motor Trade Association of Western Australia.

Business awards -
Nominees must be current financial member businesses of the MTA WA. Each entry submission must be for one member business. If you wish to enter an award for more than one business site, each site must be a current financial member.
​
MTA WA member businesses and/or individuals that have been in breach of the MTA WA Members' Code of Conduct during the qualifying period are ineligible to enter the 2023 MTA WA Automotive Awards.
​
If following an entry submission, the nominated business goes into administration, voluntary receivership, liquidation or bankruptcy, the nominee must advise the MTA WA Awards Contact and accept the business or individual is no longer eligible for an award.
​
Business size classification:
MTA WA administrators will cross-check nominations to ensure the correct award category classification based on business size. Nominees need to acknowledge if they own a small, medium or large business.

Small: sole proprietors/employs 1 -10 staff members
Medium: employs 11- 50 staff members
Large: employs over 50 staff members

Individual awards -
Automotive Woman of the Year:
Nominees for the Automotive Woman of the Year award must be employed by a current financial member of the MTA WA.

If following an entry submission, the nominee no longer works for the referenced MTA WA member business, they must contact the MTA WA Awards Contact and accept that they are no longer eligible for an award.
​
Apprentice of the Year:
First, second, third and fourth-year automotive apprentices from any discipline are eligible to be nominated for the Apprentice of the Year award on the basis that at least one of the following eligibility criteria is met:

The apprentice is employed by a current financial member of the MTA WA

The apprentice is completing their training through the MTA WA's Automotive Institute of Technology (AIT - RTO #0627)

The apprentice is employed via the MTA WA's Group Training Organisation (GTO)
Apprentices must be nominated by their Employer, Host Employer, or Field Officer. Self-nominations will not be accepted for this category.
If following an entry submission, the nominee no longer works for the referenced MTA WA member business, is no longer training with the AIT, or is no longer involved in the MTA WA's GTO program (whichever is relevant), the nominee or their nominator must contact the MTA WA Awards Contact and accept that they are no longer eligible for an award.
Judging
All nominations are scored and audited throughout the shortlisting period from Monday 19 June 2023 - Thursday 22 June 2023. Nominees may be contacted to demonstrate what has been submitted in their application.

Once the auditing process is complete, finalists will be notified from Friday 23 June 2023.
​
Finalists may be requested to participate in a site visit or interview during the final judging period between Monday 26 June 2023 - Friday 7 July 2023.
​
Finalists with the highest scores based on their submission, site visit and interview (if applicable) will be determined the winner of their respective award category.
​
All winners, including the overall winner of the Automotive Business of the Year award will be announced at the 2023 Capricorn MTA WA Automotive Awards Gala on Saturday 12 August 2023.
