Eligibility

The 2025 MTA WA Automotive Awards celebrate the individuals and businesses shaping the future of WA’s automotive industry. Awards are open to current financial members of the Motor Trade Association of Western Australia.

Eligibility criteria differ by award type. Please read the relevant sections below to ensure your nomination meets the requirements.

Business Awards 

General Eligibility

  • Nominees must be current financial member businesses of the MTA WA.

  • Each entry must relate to one business entity. If you wish to enter more than one business location, each site must be individually nominated and be a financial member.

 

Businesses that have been in breach of the MTA WA Members’ Code of Conduct during the qualifying period are not eligible.

 

If, after submission, a nominated business enters administration, voluntary receivership, liquidation, or bankruptcy, the nominator must contact the MTA WA  and acknowledge the business is no longer eligible.

Business Size Classification

Your award category will be determined based on business size. MTA WA administrators will cross-check nominations for accuracy.

 

Please nominate in the correct category:

  • Small Business: Sole proprietors or businesses with 1–10 employees

  • Medium Business: 11–30 employees

  • Large Business: 31+ employees

 

People’s Choice Award

This award is determined by public vote.

 

Any current financial MTA WA member business can nominate itself for this category, regardless of size.

About the Event

Individual Awards 

Apprentice of the Year

Nominees must have been named a 2025 Apprentice of the Month to be eligible for this category. For further information about the Apprentice of the Month eligibility, visit: Apprentice Monthly Awards · MTAWA

 

Important Notes:

  • Apprentice of the Month nominations must be submitted by the apprentice themselves, or their Employer or Host.

  • If, after submission, the apprentice is no longer training with MTA WA Training, or no longer part of the MTA WA's Apprentice Employment Program (GTO), the nominator must notify the MTA WA Awards Contact and acknowledge that the apprentice is no longer eligible.

 

Automotive Woman of the Year

Nominees must:

  • Be currently employed by a financial MTA WA member business

 

If the nominee leaves the business after submitting an entry, they must contact the MTA WA Awards Contact and accept they are no longer eligible.

​

Lifetime Achievement Award

This award is not open for public nomination.


The recipient will be selected by the MTA WA Board of Directors in recognition of an exceptional and enduring contribution to the automotive industry in Western Australia.
